Choosing a neutral color for the walls does give the homeowner more latitude when it comes to choosing cabinetry and countertops. Trendy painted and stained cabinetry works well with these colors, as does an entire range of countertop options.
It’s important to keep your plans for home ownership in mind when choosing your kitchen colors. If you’re going to be at your current address for decades and you love the idea of a brilliantly orange kitchen, rock on. However, if you know your career or other commitments means you’ll be pulling up stakes after a few years, you may want to commit to a kitchen that’s less bold: it can have a real impact on your eventual selling price.
